Saudi Visa for Umrah and Hajj: UK Pilgrim Requirements 2026

By Ustadha Fatima Siddiqui2 min read

Umrah Visa vs Hajj Visa

Umrah visas are available year-round through authorised tour operators and the Nusuk platform. Hajj visas are issued only during Dhul Hijjah and exclusively through licensed Hajj operators — independent Hajj visas are not available to UK pilgrims.

Required Documents

  • UK passport valid for at least six months

  • Recent passport photograph (white background)

  • Meningitis ACWY vaccination certificate (within last 3 years)

  • Confirmed return flight tickets

  • Hotel booking confirmation in Makkah and/or Madinah

  • Mahram documentation for women where applicable

Meningitis ACWY Vaccination

Required for all pilgrims aged 1 and above. Available from GP surgeries and travel clinics across the UK. Allow two weeks before travel for the certificate. The certificate must show the vaccine name, date, and clinic stamp.

The Nusuk Platform

Saudi Arabia's official pilgrimage platform (nusuk.sa) manages visa applications, Rawdah bookings, and Haram entry permits. Your tour operator typically handles Nusuk registration on your behalf — confirm this is included in your package.

Visa Processing Times

Umrah visas typically process within 24–72 hours once submitted by your operator. Apply at least four weeks before travel to allow for delays. Hajj visas are processed in batches by the Ministry — your operator will advise on timelines.
